Aquia Inc. Announces Support of $15.6 Million Contract to Help Build State of Maryland’s Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance System

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Oct. 30, 2024 -- Aquia Inc., a cloud and cybersecurity digital services firm, today announced its support of a two-year, $15.6 million contract to help build the State of Maryland’s Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) system, which will launch in July 2026. 

As a subcontractor to Nava Public Benefit Corporation, Aquia will support Maryland using agile software development methodologies to deliver a best-in-class service for the state’s 2.5 million workers and 180,000 employers. 

FAMLI will help ensure Maryland’s workers will still be paid when they need time to care for a family member or address their own serious health condition. Aquia will partner with Nava and the State of Maryland to help build critical components for the FAMLI system, including work that supports workers, employers, and state agency staff.
